Hisham nafi polis terlibat membuat rakaman

Barisan Nasional blogs finger Hanief
The demand for Hanief's arrest came from Barisan Nasional bloggers early
this month, after he had posted his article. Screaming headlines on many
Barisan Nasional-friendly blogs accused him of insulting the sultan.

March 1: The screaming headline at Iklan-Mudah.com posted by "Blogenstarz".
(Iklan-Mudah's latest 10 searches today were: "gambar vagina | PILM BOKEP
PERAWAN | bontot | seksi | lucah | Foto memek jembot enak | Gadis bugil |
ngesex dengan tante | video ngentot SMP | latin sex type:photo")
March 1: The screaming headline at KitaGempur.com

Menteri KDN Tangkap Blogger Nie!!M
March 2: the demand from Selamatkan Rakyat Selangor.com

"Sekali lagi institusi diraja selangor di hina oleh pakatan haram, selepas
mereka tidak puas hati dengan pelantikan kusrin sebagai setiausaha kerajaan
negeri oleh sultan selangor, kini pakatan rakyat anjing-anjing mereka untuk
sekali lagi menyerang sultan selangor."

But the original postings was in December and January, and not by Hanief

What did Hanief himself actually say in his blog?
1.. A headline "Skandal Seks Sultan Selangor Dengan Kavita Kaur ?"
2.. A spoof photograph of Mahathir Mohamad and Kavita Kaur with the
satirical caption "Sultan baru?"
3.. A quotation from Dian's original posting
4.. A link to Dian's posting as carried at Bonology
5.. A photograph of Kavita Kaur at a royal function, linked to the
original report in The Star
6.. A clip and link from a personal blog about high society

All that was from other people's articles. His own words were:

Hanief: Apa kata rakyat?
percuma buat rakyat jelata.

It began with politics: the Khusrin appointment

The rumours about the Sultan of Selangor and his personal relationship with
celebrity model Kavita Kaur have been circulating on the Internet for
months, since December.

It surfaced at the time of the controversy over the federal government's
appointment of Mohd Khusrin Munawi as Selangor's state secretary, over the
objections of the Selangor mentri besar who insisted that this was in
contravention of his constitutional authority.

Khusrin was said to have protected the sultan's private relationship with
Kavita Kaur.

She was even mentioned in Lim Kit Siang's blog - in a reader's comment on
Kit Siang's press statement regarding the Khusrin appointment.

The original poster was Dian, writing about Khusrin

The recent uproar over the Federal Government appointment of State Secretary
Mohd Khusrin without consulting the Selangor State Government is another
disrespect and selfish act of Sultan of Selangor. Everyone knows that Mohd
Khusrin protected and supported the Sultan of Selangor.
Malaysia Flip Flop

That was on Dec 30, and his comment on Kavita Kaur was made in the last
paragraph of an commentary on the Khusrin appointment.

Other blogs began writing about it.

And now like Perak, they are using a Sultan to do their dirty deeds for
them. Using the Sultan of Selangor to 'legalize" the appointment of the
State Secretary. We all know that the Sultan Of Selangor is beholden to the
Barisan Nasional government for his daily bread.
Hussein Hamid (SteadyAku47) http://is.gd/5mnF3B

It also in the last paragraph of an angry article on the Khusrin appointment
that Hussein mentioned the sultan's private relationship with Kavita Kaur

Bonology.com, which aggregates news about Barisan Nasional and Pakatan
Rakyat, also carried the two pieces in January, Dian's original article and
Hussein's follow-up.

The Star blames Hanief

Blogger Mohd Nur Hanief Abdul Jalil, who made allegations of a relationship
bet-ween a member of the royalty and a celebrity model, was questioned.
The Star

MalaysiaKini also

Hanief, a well-known blogger had who made allegationsposted several
controversial stories and pictures on his blog, the latest included
allegations of sexual misconduct of a royal and who made allegationsa
doctored picture> showing former premier Mahathir Mohamad sitting next to
model Kavita Kaur

But he did not post any stories himself in his March 1 blog posting. He
quoted two articles and linked to them. He linked to the MalaysiaKini video
of a Negri Sembilan royal complaining of an assault by a Johore royal. He
linked to a video of Manohara Pino Adelia, estranged wife of a Kelantan
prince, complaining of assault.

And he did not doctor any photo of Mahathir Mohamad. It was clearly a spoof.

MalaysiaKini, in its otherwise sympathetic account of Hanief's arrest, was
unfair in its characterisation of what he did.

But the real question is over the role of the Multimedia Commission - as
with the police - in safeguarding public safety.

No royals were harmed in Hanief's blog posting. Why was he singled out and
his family brutalised by a midnight raid?

Malaysian society and Malaysian media need to stand up for free speech, and
not condone official bullying, or picking on scapegoats.

Hauled in because someone 'sakit hati'
Sunday 20 Mar 2011 MYT 17:28:28 by uppercaise

They say someone reported me for something that caused them to sakit hati.
According to the officers, if somebody feels sakit hati with a picture or
posting on the Internet, they can report to MCMC

blogger Mohd Nur Hanief to Malaysiakini
after his interrogation on Saturday.

Extracts from MalaysiaKini

The interrogation
He was questioned from after 10am until about 1pm. He was alone. His lawyer
N Surendran was unable to make it to the sudden appointment, and the
Multimedia Commission refused to postone the questioning. "There were two
MCMC officers. My father was allowed in but I decided to go in alone," he

"They way I see it, their conduct is more like they are trying to intimidate
bloggers," he said, recalling the heavy handed way the police and MCMC
officers raided his house at 11pm last night.

No warrant, incomplete document
He could not recall any warrant being shown to him for his detention and the
seizures close to midnight on Friday. A seizure note was provided for the
computers taken but it was not complete: the serial numbers were not written

Demand for passwords
The officers asked for his Facebook, Gmail and Blogger passwords. "When they
asked me for my passwords, I told them I could not remember, just like
Mahathir, I have selective memory," Hanief said. He was reluctant to reveal
his passwords, to prevent intrusion into his privacy, and to protect his
lifelihood from his online ventures.

The MCMC officers threatened that his non-compliance may see him jailed for
two years or fined RM100,000.

Lawyer: Strong-arm tactics
Hanief's lawyer N Surendren (a vice-president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat) said
Hanief is being investigated for a blog posting "that supposedly
disrespected and insulted the Sultan".

Surendren said the interrogation was an act of "intimidation" and use of
"strong arm tactics" by the government. "It is an attempt to crack down on
bloggers and the Internet, and goes against our guaranteed freedom of

Blogger 'arrested' at midnight under Sedition Act

Popular young blogger Mohd Nur Hanief Abdul Jalil, who recently made a
reference to allegations of a sex scandal involving the Sultan of Selangor
and a celebrity model, was hauled in for questioning under the Sedition Act
at midnight last night (Friday) by police and officials of the Internet
regulator, the Multimedia Commission.

After intervention by the MP for Batu, Tian Chua, the MCMC officers issued
Hanief an investigation notice to report to their offices at 10am today
(Saturday) and released him.

It was not immediately known which of Hanief's postings was the cause of the

One of his provocative postings was on March 1 - a one-paragraph quotation
from another blog which referred to allegations of a sex scandal involving
royalty. He had also posted a satirical photographic collage of Mahathir
Mohamad and the model, Kavita Kaur.

In another comment in that posting, he made reference to reports of royalty
drinking liquor and linked to other allegations of royal misbehaviour: one
was to a MalaysiaKini video of Negri Sembilan royalty alleging an assault by
the Johore Raja Muda, and another to allegations by young Indonesian model
Manohara Adelia Pinot against her husband, a Kelantan prince.

The posting on March 1 had drawn 80 comments.

Hanief's father informed the MP, who had just returned from a Pakatan Rakyat
forum in Ipoh, about Nur Hanief's detention. Tian Chua immediately posted
the news on Twitter, and went to Sentul police station "before the poor kid
is intimidated to confess or his rights abused".

Tian Chua said the family told him that police and MCMC raided their home at
close to midnight and had ransacked the place, taking away all their

When he arrived at Sentul police station, Tian Chua said he found MCMC
officers in the midst of interrogating Hanief, and asking him for the
passwords to his blog.

Tian Chua posted a photograph of the MCMC officers.

He questioned why Hanief had been taken in at midnight, and on what charge.
He was told Hanief was arrested under "hasutan" - a reference to the
Sedition Act - but no one could show him a warrant of arrest, Tian Chua
said. They also admitted that no warrant of arrest had been issued.

MCMC officials threatened to lodge a police report against him after he said
Hanief should be free to leave if he had not been arrested, Tian Chua said.
They finally issued a notice to Hanief to report to their headquarters at
10am, and released him.

Late last night Tian Chua made an appeal for lawyers to help Hanief with the

What Mahathir said about abuse of power, and how to "tangkap" and "buang"
applies very much to what happened to blogger Hanief on Friday night, and
his questioning by the Multimedia Commission today, for an alleged offence
under the Sedition Act.
